I returned from the Holmfirth Art Market this week after quite a successful show. This was partially a scouting trip as I got invited at such short notice but I made a fair amount of money on smaller items I had for sale, including the cards made from animal drawings. I also managed to make some good contacts and I've certainly learned a lot from having to put together a show so quickly on my own. I got some great feedback on my my work and it was good to hear comments from a new potential customer base. I also made contact with some of the brilliant artists who were selling their work.
Included are some images of my stall. I was somewhat in a corner because of my late addition but in spite of that I'm planning to apply for a space at the market again next year - hopefully with a bigger stall this time!
Before the show I wrote a blog piece about my studio work which can be read here: artmarkets.blogspot.uk/sophie-hall
