Commission Prices
You can find below a list of prices for various different artworks I offer as commissions. Prices vary according to size and complexity, but also depending on medium. For example, pencil drawing is less time consuming and complex than oil painting, and as such prices reflect that. Get in touch for your free quote by emailing sophiehallartist@gmail.com, or complete the commission enquiry form here.
Portrait Drawing Prices
Whether of a beloved pet or a family member, a portrait makes a wonderful personal gift. Portraits will be hand drawn on acid free cartridge or ingres paper. In the case of digital drawing, commissions are giclee printed onto archival quality Hahnemuhle photo rag paper by my partner The Print Space.

Oil Painting Prices
Painted on a hand made panel or canvas, using painstaking traditional layer building techniques, my oil paintings serve as a long lasting testament to their subject, with a quality that lasts for generations. Oil paintings are available for still life, portrait, pet, figure and landscape commissions.

These prices are a guide: every oil painting commission is unique and bespoke, so exact costs will depend on your personal requirements, but will adhere as closely as possible to the above range.
Framing Costs
Framing costs vary as I usually work with third parties to provide the best quality options. The following are estimates for the usual costs, but may be subject to manufacturer changes:
- Pencil drawings: £20-35 for mount and frame with glazing
- Small oil paintings: £100 for a bespoke frame
- Larger oil paintings: usually between £150 and £350 depending on size of painting, gilding, width of frame profile and complexity of style.
Where possible I will provide frames at manufacturer cost and complete the finishing and framing process myself. I can offer advice on styles and sizes and help you choose something which suits both your commissioned artwork and the location you plan to hang it. I'm also happy to recommend manufacturers if you prefer to organise your own framing.
Shipping
Unframed drawings and prints can be shipped worldwide, but unfortunately due to tariff changes I am unable to ship framed works outside of the UK and EU. I can still assist you with ordering frames to be delivered to your location direct from manufacturers for you to complete framing at home.
For customers within approximately 100 miles of my studios I will endeavour to deliver larger works in person, both to reduce costs and to ensure safety and security of work. In this event I am very happy to help you with hanging the delivered work if you wish.
Unframed drawings shipping:
- UK (excluding channel islands) £7
- Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland: £15-£20
- EU: £25-£35
- Rest of World: £40+

Framed drawings weigh between 0.5-1.5kg. I always aim to use acrylic glass to reduce weight unless requested otherwise.
Oil paintings on panel can weigh between 4kg and 10kg, sometimes more, particularly when framed. Although I prefer painting on handmade panels, my largest paintings tend to be on canvas to reduce weight and prevent any damage when hanging.
Patreon
Another way to get involved and get in touch is to subscribe at Patreon to access exclusive content, including unseen artwork and works in progress, for a small monthly fee. Higher tier subscribers also receive unique artworks and store discounts for their patronage. Your support means I can continue to make artwork, run my website and develop my creative practice. Anything you can chip in to help me is really appreciated. Are you ready to become an artist’s patron?
Buy Me a Coffee
You can also chip in the price of a coffee to contribute to my ongoing work - this is a great way to show your appreciation if you can't spare money for artworks. I can't always promise to use your donations to buy coffee - I'm most likely to purchase better pencils and paints!
